DEVELOPMENT DIALOGUE - JAN 2009
In the day of 27 Jan 09 Development Dialogue Function has Started on that day Deshpande Fellows are voluntarily toked initiative for doing some work in different committee in that i am in Food committee as per my committee manager order I have went Foundation with orange T-shirt early morning at 6:30 AM because engage in break fast all my fellowship friends are presented with same uniform, in 1st day LEAD program Students are also presented with blue uniform that was looked wonderful. also some Volunteer's participated from different organisations with Red colour T- Shirts like we are worked voluntarily with their interested committee my committee (Food) is Managed by Tarayn she worked and suggest every second for proper Food provide in my team we are 4 members 3 from DFP fellows 1 from Vidya Poshak.

For Development Dialogue Function Delegates are come from different Organisations and areas of world. after had break fast all Delegates gone to field visit for respective places according to their interested sector such as Health,Education,Agriculture,Livelihood. In afternoon at 3:30 pm there was LEAD Mela from more than 1000LEAD students from different college in different stalls different projects I seen and I felt So happy those project and their effort in this day in LEAD program Who performed better in Top 5 level they got prize from 'Desh' and 'Jaishree.
after that snacks & Tea Session Was done and I Tacked and share idea with many Delegates they suggest me to achieve my attitude after that I had dinner In Hans Hotel with Delegates like I enjoyed 27 Jan development dialog function day

On Tuesday, Jan 20-09
§ Morning at 8:15 to 9:00 Am taryn A has engaged our class to playing some games
§ 9 to 9 30 taryn and chinnababu had given bag & face books to fellows
§ 9:30 to 1:30 naveen jah and chinnababu have taken introduction and DFP curriculum class
§ 1:30 to 2:30 we had lunch in DCSE Building
§ 2:30 to 4:00 chinnababu taken poster preparation session
§ 4 to 6 Pm chinnababu taken DF Polices introduction session
§ Evening at 7:30 to 9:30 at DCSE Building after Lead students presentation we had dinner and came back to Guest house


On Wednesday, JAN 21-09

v This day at 9:45 to 10:20 taryn had taken session
v 10:20 to 11 poster session in poster session we stick our posters in library
v After that 11 to 2 sand box fellows 1) Liss, 2)robecca 3)lesley poris had share their work experience
v From 2 to 6:30 we had visited to sub jail vishveshwara nagara hubli thi is an community service activites in jail we done some moral drama and other cultural activities.

On Thursday, Jan 22
Ø This day early morning at 5 Am we have visited Akshay patra world big kitchen house to getting more knowledge about Foundation by yadneshwar after that we had breakfast their only at 8: 30 we come back
Ø 9:30 to 11 naveen jah had taken class for discussion on Akshay patra
Ø At 11:30 to 1:15 we had visited Agastya organization for orientation visit we took more scientific knowledge and study about organization after that we come back to DCSE building
Ø 1:30 to 2:30 we had lunch
Ø 2:30 to 300 we had discussed with naveen sir about Agastya organization
Ø 3:00 to 5 :20 cohort -1 fellows 1)Preethi swami,2)Rajendra 3)jagdeesh had present their during and after fellowship programme maters.

The Akshaya patra foundation
In the part of Deshpande Fellowship Programme Orientation Visit I visited to Akshaya patra on during food preparation time early morning at 5:30 with other fellow and program managers on this day (TAPF) is a secular,charitable, not-for- profit organisation with a vision that "No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger".now this program spread over six states in India 1) Karnataka 2) AP 3) UP 4) Rajastan5) Gujarat and 6) Orissa with 14 locations within these sates.
FOOD SAFETY POLICY IN AKSHYA PATRA FOUNDATION
In Akshaya patra Foundation are committed to achieve their organisational Goal implementing Food Safety Policy in providing safe and nutritious food to School Children (beneficiaries).
Akshaya Patra shall achieve Food safety by :
  • Imparting training to all employees On Food safety management system aspect.
  • procure raw materials which would be safe and nutritious and according to food safety standards.
  • Follow all statutory and regulatory requirements of food industry and implement Food Safety Management system,in Food production areas.
  • Introducing a Safe and on -time delivery mechanism

DESHPANDE FOUNDATION


The Deshpande Foundation (DF) is the family foundation of Gururaj (”Desh”) Deshpande and Jaishree Deshpande Based in Stoneham, MA, it is a philanthropy dedicated to funding non-profits (NGO) in Massachusetts and in the Hubli-Dharwad region of Karnataka state, India. It was started in 1996.
Gururaj (”Desh”) and Jaishree Deshpande are the trustees of the Deshpande Foundation
The Deshpande Foundation looks for organizations which:
Offer innovative solutions to society’s largest and most pressing issues, recognizing problems which impactlarge populations, or for which current solutions are unsatisfactory.
Provide ideas that are easily and quickly scaled, and are operationally and financially sustainable. Additionally, willingness to
replicate with outside partners is noteworthy.l Have strong leadership and vision.
Funding is allocated into four main sectors: Agriculture/Environment, Microcredit/Livelihood, Education and Health.
Current funding efforts are for the MIT Deshpande Center, organizations working within the 5 districts of the “Sandbox”, and major venture philanthropy efforts in both Massachusetts and India.

“DF Sandbox”
The Sandbox is a geographically defined area in India. It is located in the northwest corner of the state of Karnataka, and it centers around the twin cities of Hubli and Dharwad. A map is available here. The area has diverse economies throughout its five districts, with both urban and agricultural settings.
Desh and Jaishree Deshpande are both originally from the Hubli-Dharwad area. As a result, the Foundation centers its efforts on their hometown as a lab for social innovation.
