Labour turnover


On 8th of May 09 in Deshpande fellowship program Hubli I have given presentation on the topic of Labour turnover in my presentation I have covered only basic highlighted bullets of topic those are given as below.


Introduction

An organisation has almost permanent and continuous existence but, its work force dose not remain constant all the time some workers leave the organization and some new workers join it. Thus, the movement of worker in to and out of the organization is termed as labour turnover.

Meaning
Ratio of number of employees that leave a firm through attrition, dismissal, or resignation during a period to the number of employees on payroll during the same.

Definition
According to Dale Yoder:
“Labour turnover is time to time changes In the composition of the work force that result from the hiring, release and replacement of the employees”.

Causes

Avoidable cause
Low Wages
Lack of job security
Dis-satisfaction with work environment
Lack of medical housing and recreational facilities.
Excessive and strenuous work
Dis – Satisfaction with working hours
